Fashion and beauty takes form in many ways. I am here to enlighten readers of the bigger picture of beauty, the different ways it can present itself, and the evolving perception of beauty in the fashion industry. Not only will I use this as a way to inform readers about the industry, but I will go into my personal life and my work as a Fashion Designer. Thank you for reading. -Krista L.L.

Fashion Design aided by Technology
This is some personal work that I completed a few quarters ago. The designs consist of a collage of images from different sources and put together in a creative way. All illustrations were completed in Adobe Photoshop.
The images are created by making a collage of different sections of watercolor drawings.

Supar Tool by Oldnavy
I found this new commercial by Oldnavy and it takes a hit at men's High Fashion. The ad shows men in ridiculious scenerios with sheep, baroque architecture, fur, and a crown. Definately worth watching.

Vogue Italia pt. 2
So in my last post I discussed the cover for the June Issue of Vogue Italia. In this post I have found images of the photo shoot inside the magazine. The photos are beautiful, and just a note; there is quite a bit of nudity in them. But most international magazines (mainly European) have more nudity than what we find here in the U.S. The images are absolutely stunning and showcase a woman's beautiful curves.
Sorry the images are kinda pixelated, they were the biggest images I could find! You can see the rest of the images as well as an article, and a behind the scenes video here!

Real Women in Vogue Italia
Franca Sozzani, editor of Vogue Italia, featured three voluptuous ladies on the cover for its June Issue. Plus size models on a cover of vogue? Anna Wintor may have fainted. This beautiful image features the ladies in lingere with gentle hair and seductive makeup.
In the interview with Franca Sozzzani she stated that " We are used to seeing teenagers — 14, 15, 17, 18 years old — they are not able to use their bodies and their bodies are still not shaped. I don’t know why it became a prototype of a beauty, like Twiggy in the sixties or Veruschka. But you realize the women with the bodies are much more interesting than teenagers."
Franca Sozzani was part of a petition against pro-anorexia sites and was questioned as to why she doeskin use more curvy figures in Vogue Italia. So in a rebuttal against these statements she decided to launch this cover and held a casting of plus size, curvy women to be on the cover. She didn't not even just search for plus size models, real women could be selected as well. Three girls were chosen and produced this stunning cover.
I highly reccomend reading the rest of the article, which you can read here.

SCAD 2011 Fashion Show May 21st
I know its a little late in getting here, but I had the pleasure of attending the SCAD 2011 fashion show this year. There were two shows one at 4pm and one at 8pm on May 21st. I attended the show my freshman year and absolutely fell in love and I've always wanted to go again but tickets are extremely hard to come by. This year, I didnt have any hope in going but a friend of mine, Miss Paige, came to the rescue with an extra ticket the day before the show! Andre Leon Tally, the Editor at Large of Vogue was there to present the Andre Leon Tally Lifetime Achievement Award to Manolo Blanhik, the infamous shoe designer. After the awards were presented the show started and some phenomanal student work was shown.
Next year I hope this will be me, its a fierce process to get in the show and there are often only 25-30 spots out of the 100+ fashion senior class. Wish me luck for next year! It would be a dream come true!

Seam Magazine!
So for my contemporary issues in fashion merchandising class we had to work in a group and create a magazine. The concept had to be some what fashion related and it was required to have several features which included: An interview, 2 editorials, multiple advertisements, and a special topic. The concept of our magazine was a technology related issue. We focused on today's top technological products, the ever growing blog scene, and some of today's big technological happenings in the fashion industry. I helped style and produce the editorials and I completed the layout myself. The magazine itself ended up being 68 pages and It is something I am very proud of. I wanted to give you guys a peak of something I have been working on for the past month! Our group members included Jaqueline Gasc(When I'm Not Naked) Hillary Mund ( I like Your Shoes), Bianca Tankersley (Fashion In Many Ways), and Whitney Olinger (SKU Junky). We also had awesome photography by Jake Hamilton and Jessica Richardson. If you have any other questions about sources and information about the articles let me know!
